Week2

So Its been a while but I've been having lots of fun...
To update you:
Week One Aug 25-27 school everyday
Week Two approx. Aug 28- Sept. 4 Field Trip #1 Stradbroke Island
consisted of 3 days of Terrestrial Ecology, 3 days of Marine Ecology and 1 day of Australian Culture.
We hit up the beach, talked to Aboriginals and I got some really nice infected warrior wounds...I like to go with the story that I was attacked by a koala, but really I scratched a mosquito bite too hard and backed up onto some razor clams lol.

PART 1 Terrestrial Ecology:

This place is called the Sand Blow...well, for obvious reasons. Lots of sand!! For reference, that little dot on the right of the other two dots is my professor!

Week1

Sunday, Aug 23rd, 2009

Day 1 in Australia:

Took a ferry on the Brisbane River to the zoo (Lone Pine).

Aussie Lesson 1: Don’t wear a whit shirt to the zoo.

Today was…be a tourist day. Nothing too crazy…

Except for the fact that I saw a koala!!!

We went to a zoo where I got to feed kangaroos and emus and also had a little bit of good luck when a bird had mistaken my shirt for the toilet.

Tasmanian Devil!!! (Not quite like the cartoon)

I got to see some crazy animals that I wouldn’t see in the US, but zoos always remind me of the superiority of the human race. Most of the animals did not look happy and were even a little bit loopy because of their captivity.

Classes start Tuesday! Wish me luck!!!
